Mangrove Program

In 2008, the Mangrove Project was launched as an initiative of the Seajoy Group, establishing the foundations of our regenerative vision and reaffirming our commitment to responsible production. Since then, the mangrove reforestation program has been a fundamental pillar of our environmental actions, beginning at the Torrecillas Aquaculture farm in Nicaragua.

In 2014, the program expanded to the Fonseca Aquaculture, Biocultivos Marinos S.A. de C.V. (BIOMAR), and Inversiones de Exportación S.A. de C.V. (INEXSA) farms. These areas, surrounding the Pedregal, El Garcero, and La Berberia estuaries, consolidated the Seajoy Group's presence in the restoration of coastal ecosystems in various locations.

Over the years, this effort has had a significant impact: up to 2025, approximately 1,104,206 mangrove propagules have been planted in coastal areas, both in Honduras and Nicaragua, representing the recovery and reforestation of mangroves of the species Rhizophora mangle.
